![]() ![]() ![]() This release is intended to solve issues and will not bring any new features. And therefore, the old house of is proud to introduce a modified driver based on the official software release from September 2019 and unofficial driver release from May 2020. It's been 2 years and Creative Labs hasn't done enough to fix these issues. Ever since then, Sound Blaster Z / Zx / ZxR series are plagued with issues such as audio stuttering, crackling, popping, and sudden channel swapping. really? they release drivers once in 3 years for frak sake, and not being able to release something clean once in a while.Īlready noticed that some ppl complained about this solution, this combination is quite unfortunate, as some games start crashing, the only workaround seems to be reverting completely to an old driver/SB control panel CLEAN package until Creative releases a proper package. In Windows 10 build 1803, Microsoft made some kernel changes related to hardware timers that broke a lot of device drivers and caused high latency on many systems. So an old driver package has to be installed to get the SoundBlaster control panel, but uninstall just the driver itself from Programs is no go, it removes everything, the driver AND the control panel, so to uninstall just the old driver could be sketchy leaving stuff behind anyways, no matter how many third party stuff are used. ![]() w/o SB Control Panel, the default is 5.1 and cannot be changed in Windows Audio Panel at all. If it is installed on a fresh system, from scratch, there is no SoundBlaster Control panel. But still I rarely trust it, I prefer to measure it with ADC and confirm that on plot that I am not having some sort of paranoia. Musical hearing is more like curse than a gift actually. I would agree that most people are tone deaf for sure :D. I've done that, they are rarely up-voted and thus noticed. Also same as you did, reporting Creative issues on Feedback Hub is kinda futile. I am seeing myself on that TPU link also. I will refrain commenting how utterly bad Creative stock MIC input implementations are, we all know it, oh wait, I did it. I was using Forte a bit as it accepts balanced MIC input it is noiseless. The setting is mismatched often in windows sound CP Creative Bling Panel and Microsoft is changing things, again, for some unknown reasons. I have a suspicion about Small and Large Speaker setting making problems at my end. Maybe it is something really exclusive to Z's then? ![]() I haven't encountered the behavior on my ZxR - ie not saving the channel setup. ![]()
